More On Election

I live in Douglas County, Colorado not in Littleton. I was on the The Denver Post website reading articles on the election and stumble upon this article on the Marijuana tax and didn’t realize that some districts have taxes on marijuana much higher because of local taxes.

Here is link to article: Link

I analyzed the taxes for Boulder county and Littleton County based on what the ballot says.
Assuming $100 worth of pot. (I am not a user so have no idea how much it cost realistically.)

Based on Proposition AA

Excise tax of 15% Increases to $115
Ballot language makes me confused if the 10% tax is based on $115 or $100. I‘ll put both in results.

1B) Based on $100 price for customer $125

2B) Based on $115 price for customer $126.50

$125 or $126.50 is how much $100 worth of pot is after taxes for most of Colorado.

Littleton County Link

In the language of bill the 3% is based on RETAIL price not wholesale price so it takes 3% of $115.

Price of $100 worth pot in Littleton, CO = $128.45 assuming 1B.

Price of $100 worth pot in Littleton, CO = $129.95 assuming 2B.

Boulder County Link

Boulder has an excise tax of 5%.

Price of $100 worth pot before retail = $120

The retail tax is 3.5%. Because of confusing language multiple scenarios of final price is possible.

Based on 1B

Price of $100 worth of pot Boulder, CO assuming retail tax based on $100 = $133.50

Price of $100 worth of pot Boulder, CO assuming retail tax based on $120 = $134.20

Based on 2B

Price of $100 worth of pot Boulder, CO assuming retail tax based on $100 = $135.00

Price of $100 worth of pot Boulder, CO assuming retail tax based on $120 = $135.70
